Valency properties of the Ket verb clause
This article provides an overview and typological assessment of Ket valency morphology. Derivational categories specifically absent in the language are also noted. In fact, one of the article’s findings is that Ket possesses only a modest array of morphological voice and valency-related alternations, with periphrasis and suppletion doing much of the work that derivation might typically accomplish in a language with synthetic morphology. The material analyzed derives primarily from data collected during fieldwork during the past few years from SK speakers.
